THE AVETT BROTHERS

SEP 5

Three-time Grammy Award nominees The Avett Brothers made mainstream waves with their 2009 debut, I And Love And You, landing at No. 16 on the Billboard Top 200 and garnering critical acclaim. In 2012, the group saw The Carpenter hit No. 4 on the Top 200, followed by the 2013 release of Magpie and the Dandelion

True Sadness (2016) achieved The Avett Brothers’ highest career debut to date, including hitting No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Albums, No. 3 on the Top 200, and scoring two Grammy nominations. In the same year, the band was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame.

In 2017, the group released their celebrated documentary May It Last: A Portrait of The Avett Brothers (co-directed by Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfiglio). The Avett Brothers released their 10th studio album Closer Than Together in 2019, followed by The Third Gleam in 2020, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Americana/Folk Albums.

During 2020, The Avett Brothers played two sold out drive-in shows at The Charlotte Motor Speedway in three months and ended the year on a high note with a livestream of their 17th annual New Year’s Eve concert. The band’s most recent project, coming in 2022, is a musical inspired by and featuring The Avett Brothers’ music entitled Swept Away.
